Overview of Position
The Business Unit System Analyst is responsible for supporting electronic data interchange (EDI) files from insurance carriers, as well as maintaining tables or configurations that drive the base functionality of applications. The Analyst’s primary role is to support the EDI intake team and HOIVerify team by recommending and implementing system enhancements and carrier data adjustments that promote efficiency, compliance, and growth.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
- Analyze change requests to determine their scope and apply necessary mapping or development adjustments that impact customers, lenders, and insurance carriers.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify system bugs, process gaps, and user actions contributing to quality errors. Recommend improvements based on findings and present suggestions to functional business leads and product owners.
- Create and maintain procedural documentation, including user guides, installation guides, quick-reference guides, release notes, system configuration guides, and help files.
- Monitor data volume and research significant volume changes within data.
- Manage projects and assist in improving data quality wherever necessary.
- Research, report, and implement fixes for moderately complex data-related issues.
- Work directly with carriers and aggregators to research, resolve, and implement fixes for discovered data inconsistencies.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
- 2 years of experience in SQL and pulling data queries.
- 2 years of experience working with Black Knight (MSP).
- 2 years of business analyst experience or insurance industry experience.
- Prior experience in product development using agile methodologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
- Ability to process complex, time-sensitive data and information from multiple sources, make decisions, and communicate actions.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently or as part of a project team to complete multiple tasks.
- Flexibility and ability to quickly adapt to business needs or changes in priorities.
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
- Detailed knowledge of insurance tracking and mortgage loan servicing.
- Ability to focus on details while maintaining a high-level understanding of the bigger picture.
- Experience breaking down complex processes into individual decisions and steps.
- Proficiency with Microsoft tools, including process mapping, presentations, and spreadsheets.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively perform system support duties, including summarizing and explaining complex processes to all levels of the organization and clients.
- Comfortable working at the intersection of technology and business.
- Prior experience in business or process analysis.
- Quick learner with a willingness to put in extra time to ensure understanding.
