The People Partner provides human resources support to managers and employees in designated segments across one or more of the company’s Lines of Business (LOB). This role focuses on enhancing the employee experience, driving business outcomes, and leveraging data to support informed decision-making.
In collaboration with the People Business Partner, the People Partner delivers comprehensive and consistent coaching and counseling services to employees and managers on performance and conduct-related matters. They address workplace concerns, provide guidance on job-related questions, and assist in identifying people and talent needs through the implementation of talent programs and processes.
The People Partner may also be involved in situations that require urgent resolution or investigation. These requests may originate from employees, managers, Legal, the People Experience Center, or other sources. Additionally, they work proactively with People Business Partners, managers, and leaders to provide insights and trends that impact business performance.
Through feedback and coaching, the People Partner reinforces best practices in leadership, enabling managers to use their judgment in determining appropriate actions while maintaining a focus on employee experience. They align policies, procedures, and practices with the company’s core values to minimize risk.
Building and maintaining strong relationships is essential to success in this role. The People Partner serves as a key resource to managers and People Business Partners, providing training on topics that enhance engagement and improve people management strategies. Collaboration with other Centers of Excellence (COEs) within the People Organization, such as Talent Acquisition and the People Experience Center, is critical to ensuring effective support and alignment with business objectives.

Job Responsibilities:
- The People Partner focuses on the employee experience by providing proactive and reactive coaching, consultative HR advice, and services to employees within their designated business unit from intake to resolution. Their coaching and advice are based on leadership best practices, including structured performance development and improvement strategies. They establish strong relationships with managers and People Business Partners within their client group.
- Assists with hiring and staffing processes, including interviewing, assessing candidates, and supporting managers in selection. This may include compensation management and job description development.
- Supports employee engagement efforts, such as action planning, team meetings, and follow-ups to ensure the successful execution of initiatives.
- Provides performance coaching and participates in meetings between employees and managers as needed.
- Advises managers on policy interpretation, encouraging the use of judgment and discretion while leveraging leadership best practices.
- Offers education and training for managers in areas such as FMLA, Union Avoidance, Wage and Hour compliance, and accommodations. Training decisions are made collaboratively with input from managers, Legal, and/or the People Business Partner.
- Supports managers in the termination process, whether related to reductions in force, voluntary exits, or involuntary separations. This may include participating in termination meetings.
- Facilitates the end-to-end reduction-in-force process in collaboration with the People Business Partner and business leadership. This includes talent assessments, employee notifications, and ongoing support for affected employees.
- Conducts inquiries, research, or investigations into concerns raised by employees, managers, or other stakeholders.
- Uses data analytics to help leaders and People Business Partners understand and address workplace issues.
- Contributes to additional projects as assigned by People Organization leadership.
- The People Partner leverages HR systems to document and manage cases received from managers and employees. They utilize multiple tools (e.g., Workday, Peakon, and other analytics platforms) to generate insights and drive organizational performance. Additionally, they recommend updates and enhancements to content and analytics tools to improve accessibility and effectiveness.
The People Partner collaborates with the People Experience Center team to ensure that employee and manager concerns are addressed promptly, consistently, and accurately, with proper documentation.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience supporting U.S.-based clients, with familiarity in U.S. employment laws. Experience should include coaching and advising employees at all levels on performance, organizational change, employee engagement, and workplace relationships.
- Ability to use data analytics in partnership with People Business Partners and leaders to address business challenges. Proficiency in running reports, creating pivot tables, or using Power BI for data analysis.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII, EEO, and other applicable regulations).
- Availability to work later hours as needed to support U.S. employees based on the West Coast.
